Finishing compounds are divided into cut down compounds, intermediate compounds and final rouge.
Cut down:
- Bobbing Tripoli- An aggressive compound that smoothens gold, silver, and non-ferrous metals.
- Brown Tripoli - An intermediate compound that reduces scratch or filing marks.
Intermediates:
- J-Yellow - Aggressive cutting compound for yellow metals.
- Graystar - Very popular cutting compound works well on precious and ferrous metals. With a medium grade composition it has an excellent capacity to bring out good colour of all metals.
Finishing Rouges:
- Green Rouge - Gives an extremely high lustre when working with harder precious metal alloys like white gold, platinum, chrome and stainless steel.
- Red Rouge - The most popular compound for polishing gold, silver and other soft non-ferrous metals to a lustrous final finish.
- Fabulustre - All-purpose compound and easy to clean.
- Zam - Excellent dry compound for silver.
