Swiss made Glardon-Vallorbe Crossing Escapement files have square handles.
Escapement file lengths are measured from tip to the end of the cut and measurements do not include the tang.
Escapement files are also called Watchmakers files.
Crossing files are half round on two sides with one side having a larger radius than the other.
Tapered in width and thickness. Cut and usable to the point. Used primarily for filing interior curved surfaces.
The double radius makes possible the filing at the junction of two curved surfaces.
